- Sir Francis Seymour-Conway, 1st Marquess of Hertford was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.
He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Conway of Ragley, co. Warwick [G.B., 1703] on 3 February 1731/32. He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Conway and Killultagh, co. Antrim [I., 1712] on 3 February 1731/32.
He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1749/50.
He was created 1st Earl of Hertford [Great Britain] on 3 August 1750, with a special remainder to his brother Henry. He was created 1st Viscount Beauchamp [Great Britain] on 3 August 1750, with a special remainder to his brother Henry. He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1757.
He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire between 1757 and 1794. He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1763.
He held the office of Ambassador to France between 1763 and 1765. He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland from 1765 to 1766. He held the office of Lord Chamberlain between 1766 and 1782. He held the office of Master of Horse from September 1766 to November 1766. He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Montgomeryshire from 1775 to 1776.
He was created 1st Earl of Yarmouth, co. Norfolk [Great Britain] on 5 July 1793.
He was created 1st Marquess of Hertford [Great Britain] on 5 July 1793.
