- Transported to Fremantle on the ship William Jardine (1/8/1852) following
conviction in the Central Criminal Court London (12/5/1851), for theft of
articles from London-South Brighton railway with brother George Pearson
Barratt. Convict number 1338
Subsequently became Head Gardener for the City of Perth, and a market
gardener of some standing. Shafto Lane, previously Barratt Lane, was named
after the family.
"Barret Enoch P. #1338 labourer M three children; 5' 6 1/4" tall;dark
brown hair,grey eyes, round face, sallow complexion, stout build. Bite by
