"NOTES: Reign: 1483-85; Although Richard, the last king of the house ofYork, did usurp the throne, little doubt exists that his unscrupulousnesshas been overemphasized by his enemies and by Tudor historians seeking tostrengthen the Lancastrian position. His baseness is strongly exaggeratedin Shakepeare's play, Richard III. He is said to have murdered hisnephews, Edward V and Richard, Duke of York in 1483 (called the Princesin the Tower). Richard III met his death at the Battle of Bosworth."

Undoudtedly Richard has got a bad reputation, but there is no conclusiveevidence to support that. Much bad was written about him by a certainwriter called William Shake..something or other, who some see as a Tudorlacky, the Tudors, who killed Richard and then usurped the throne, hadobvious reasons for wanting to paint him in a bad light.
Some have even suggested that the writer William was actually FrancisBacon, who they then suggest was the son of Queen Elizabeth 1 (Tudor) andthe Earl of Essex, but a bit short on conclusive evidence.
