- Fitzherbert was born 27 May 1748 to William and Sarah Fitzherbert of Tissington Hall
He held the office of Gentleman Usher to King George III, and was created 1st Baronet FitzHerbert, of Tissington Hall, co. Derby [Great Britian] on 22 January 1784
He owned a number of plantations for sugar and coffee in Jamaica and Barbados, inherited through his wife.
Anthony Fitzherbert, the second baronet, died suddenly on 2 April 1798 of a "sudden consumption" at the age of nineteen. He was succeeded by Henry, his brother, the third son of the first baronet.
