2. | Abner Redner was born on 24 Sep 1795 in Hurley, Ulster County, New York, USA (son of Henry Redner and Sarah Bensel); died on 18 Apr 1899 in Hector, Potter County, Pennsylvania, USA. Notes:
Son of Henry & Sarah Bensel Redner. By 1819 was in Tompkins Co., NY and Potter Co., PA in 1839. Married 1819 Margaret Douglass, and acquired land directly across the road from his brother in law William Douglass Jr. The farm of James Douglass, William's son was next door and Henry Redner, Abner's son had a farm just west of that in Hector Township. Oris Redner, another son, had a farm south of the Douglass holdings.
On the 100th birthday of Abner Redner, Sept. 24, 1895, a large number of relatives and friends gathered at his house to celebrate. He mingled with the group on the lawn that day and remained fairly active to the time of his death three and a half years later. Had he lived another year he would have seen three centuries.
Abner married Margaret "Peggy" Douglass in 1819. Margaret was born on 28 Aug 1796 in Orange County, New York, USA; died on 20 Mar 1887 in Hector, Potter County, Pennsylvania, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
