    David Monroe appeared in Norwalk, Connecticut land records as a landgrantee in 1691. In 1694 he was on a list of voters.
    He wrote his will the 1 March 1731/32. It was proved 20 September 1733.He mentioned his wife Rebecca, his daughter Elizabeth Wood, his son DavidMonrow and his grandson David Monrow, son of his son-in-law JosephMonrow, his daughter Levina Morehouse, his daughter Elizabeth Norris, hisdaughter Martha Beers, her mother-in-law his wife, his daughter BethisBagley, his daughter Christian Sanders, his granddaughter Mary Miller,his son Solomon Monrow, his grandson David son of Solomon, and son Abner.One genealogy lists his father as William Monroe."

    "Note: Hugh Monroe fought in the battle of Worcester, along with hisbrother John and his uncle Robert. They were all banished to New Englandby Oliver Cromwell. They were shipped, along with other relatives, on theships John and Sarah, which left England on 11 November 1651. Hedescended from Robert Munro, 14th Baron of Foulis (Fowlis), through histhird son Hugh Munro I of Assynth. See, "History of the Munros ofFowlis," by MacKenzie."
