    Notes:

    The Simmons family must descend from Moses Simmons, who arrived in America in Novemeber 1621, aboard the ship "Fortune". His name was spelled Moyses Symonson.
    I am told the Mayflower Society has the Simmons family well documented, because they married into the Mayflower passengers.

    enlisted in the Revolutionary Army, the Mass. Line, on 5-5-1775, he was discharged 8-9-1780.

    Is this the same man?

    John Douglass age 12, was captured in London on the wharfs by a ship that was leaving. I don't know where his folks originally came from , he had a rich Uncle with a shop in London, who offered him his inheritance if he would come live with him(as he had no issue) The ship came into Boston area , John went to Middleborough bought a farm in the sixteen shilling purchase. John's son Elijah moved to N Yarmouth (now Harpswell Maine (somewhere around Portland)) Bought Birch Island with Benjamine Winslow.
