Sylvia Douglas is Founder and director of MsMissMrs.  A former community mental health worker for East Renfrewshire Council, Sylvia Douglas set up MsMissMrs to help empower women and girls to move on from tough backgrounds.

Sylvia spent much of her teenage years in residential care and became a mum at just 15, so she knows first-hand the challenges women can face getting on in education and work. Her own determination to succeed enabled her to get a degree and a professional job. Now MsMissMrs training empowers other women to take control of their lives by helping them build physical, emotional and psychological resilience. It is supported by Sylvia’s Empowerment Pants range of superhero underwear, a recent Social Investment Scotland and Asda Social Enterprise Developer Academy finalist.

Sylvia was appointed a Medallist of the Order of the British Empire in His Majesty the King's Birthday Homours in 2023.
