Nicholas Douglas was born before 1348 in
Scotland. He died about 1406 in Mains of Lanarkshire.
Nicholas De Douglas became the first Laird of Mains. The
lands of Mains, in Dumbartonshire, were acquired by his marriage to
Janet Galbraith in September 1373.
