Col Marcellus Douglass (? - 1862)

 

He was Captain of the Randolph Volunteers, becoming Company E, 13th Georgia Infantry, as of 19 June 1861. He was elected Lieutenant Colonel to date from 8 July 1861. He was elected Colonel on 1 February 1862 on the death of Colonel Ector. He led the Regiment at the battles of Gaines' Mill and Malvern Hill.

He was was killed in action just south of the Cornfield early in the morning of September 17th, 1862 while in command of Lawton's Brigade.
