Leila Marie (Hart) Douglas
 

 

Leila Marie Hart Douglas, a resident of Montgomery, Ala., died June 2, 2004. A native Texan, she was 100 years old, born in Corsicana, Aug. 5, 1903, the daughter of lra Ernest and Mamie Elizabeth Hart. She lived in Texas until 1980 when she moved to be near her son and daughter.

She was buried in Corsicana next to her husband, Robert Emmett Douglas Sr., Her great-grandson, Robert Emmett Douglas IV, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Robert Emmett Douglas Jr. and his wife, Jane, of Atlanta, Ga.; and her daughter Joan Douglas Bowling and her husband, Temple, of Montgomery, Ala.; six grandchildren, Robert Emmett Douglas III, and wife, Cherry, James Hambrick Douglas, Temple Bowling IV and wife, Janice, Melissa Bowling Tubbs, Stephen Douglas Bowling and wife, Shirley, and Laura Bowling Steiner and husband, John; 10 great-grandchildren, Mandy Douglas, Jim Douglas, Will Douglas, David Douglas, Temple Bowling V and wife, Kimberly, Elizabeth Hart Bowling, Jonathan Clark Bowling and wife, Jackie, Lisa Tubbs Turner and husband, Jeff, Stephanie Rae Bowling, and Liza Jane Bowling; five great-great grandchildren, Temple Bowling VI, WaIter Chandler Bowling, Tyner Elizabeth Bowling, Sarah Katharine Turner, and Charles Davis Turner; a sister, Mrs. William Miller Walton Sr. of Dallas; nephews, William Miller Walton Jr. and wife, Fan, of Dallas; Steven Hart and wife, Mary, of Lumberton, Michael Hart and wife, Lisa, of Beaumont; Timothy Hart and wife, Gretchen, of Dallas; sister-in-law, Mrs. Ernest Hart of Beaumont; and a number of grand nephews and nieces.
