Fred Douglas was a prominent Edinburgh Communist activist in the 1930's.

A Lenin School student of the 1930's, he encouraged 'the best comrades' to join the fight against Franco in the Spanish Civil War.

He came a poor third in 1930 General Election in Edinburgh Central.
