Archibald Campbell, 17th of Mains and 12th of Blythswood was baptised
with the name of Archibald Douglas. He gained the rank of Lieutenant in
the service of the 68th Regiment. On 1838 his name was legally changed
to Archibald Campbell on inheriting the estate of
Blythswood from his cousin,
Archibald Campbell.
In 1880, Archibald Campbell Douglas of Mains owned the farm of Keystone
and lands of Craigdow valued at £577
