Charles William Sholto Douglas



He was the 2nd son of Sholto George Watson Douglas, 19th Earl of Morton.

He was a Writer to the Signet 1903-1907.

He served as a Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion Oxfordshire Light Infantry (Second Lieutenant. Dated 7th December,
1898) and was a Lieutenant in the R.N.V.R. in World War I.  His service is commemorated on the Conaglen memorial.

1.  Helen Lady de Mauley, who died 4 June, 2009, was the widow (& second cousin) of the 6th Lord de Mauley (cr Baron of the UK 1838). She was b 7 Oct 1921, as Helen Alice Douglas, scion of the Earls of Morton, only dau. of Hon Charles William Sholto Douglas, of Back Bridge, Malmesbury, Wiltshire (2nd son of Sholto George [Douglas], 19th Earl of Morton, by his wife Hon Helen Geraldine Ponsonby, 4th dau. of Charles Frederick Ashley Cooper [Ponsonby], 2nd Lord de Mauley; and married (i) 20 Oct 1947, Lieut Col Bryan Lynch Leslie Abdy Collins OBE MC (1913-52), by whom she had issue, Thomas Adby Collins, b 1948, and Brian James Douglas Adby Collins, b 1952; married (ii) 16 Nov 1954, Gerald John [Ponsonby], 6th Baron de Mauley (1921-2002).
