Son of Ian Douglas, genealogist and family history researcher, Andy Douglas BA (Hons.), MSc., ACMA, MCMI, completed a postgraduate certificate and then a diploma in Genealogical Studies at the University of Strathclyde.

In 2011 he completed a master’s degree in the subject, and is a part-time tutor at the university for the Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma in genealogical, palaeographic and heraldic studies.

He is a member of the US based Association of Professional Genealogists, and the Society of Genealogists in the UK.

Originally an accountant, Andy takes a forensic and methodical approach to genealogical research. Based in Reading, to the west of London, there is quick and easy access to the National Archives in Kew, the British Library and London Metropolitan Archives.
