Colonel Allan Garth Douglas

 

 

 

 

 

Col. Allan Garth Douglas, the son of the late Allan M. W. Douglas, Attorney-at-Law, and his wife, Gloria, was an army officer, serving in The Jamaica Regiment.

 

He was born in Falmouth, Jamaica, July 20, 1948, and was educated at Cornwall College; Manchester College; College of Further Education; Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England; and Royal Army Staff College, Camberley, England.

 

He was awarded Medals of Honour for - Meritorious Service 1983; General Service (Grenada) 1986; Mention in Despatches (Grenada)1986; Meritorious Service First Bar 1989.

 

Promoted Colonel  in June 1995, he retired from the Jamaica Defence Force in 2002.

 

Chief Publication: “Newcastle and its History’.”

 

On May 23, 1970, he married Dianne Margaret Vincent, ; they have 1 son nad 1 daughter.

 

Interests: Jogging, Reading, Writing. Clubs: Jamaica Officers. Motto: “Strive to achieve, never yield.”
