San Folco Scotti, bishop of Piacenza and Pavia, was born in Piacenza in 1165, died in Pavia in 1229, comes from an important family of Irish(1) origin .

Events
At the age of 20 he entered the Canons of Sant'Eufemia who, despite being priests, live like monks.
He goes to Paris to study theology.
On his return to Piacenza , he was elected prior of Sant'Eufemia, later archpriest of the cathedral and finally bishop .
Six years later, since the episcopal see of Pavia remains vacant , he is also consecrated bishop of this city : a single bishop for two cities in bitter opposition to each other. His main commitment, as a loving and just father, is to bring peace and harmony between citizens divided into opposing factions, first in each single city and then between the two cities, reducing the number of deaths and serious damage.
Death
He dies holy in Pavia and is buried in the cathedral of the city.

Notes:
