There are two tombs to William Douglas, Earl of Angus, and his
grandson, Sir James Douglas who commanded the Scottish regiment in the
French Army during the 17th century that became known later in the
British army as the Royal Scots regiment. You can read about their
tombs, which are in the nave of the church opposite each other, and the
regiment in Maxwell's History of the House of Douglas.
