Allen Omega, a grandchild of Willie Thomas' "aka"
William R. Douglas has completed research into his family, who are
descended from slaves. William was a son of Henry and Sarah Ann
Clemons-Douglas and a grandchild of Henderson and Mourning Meachum-Douglass
and James and Sopha Marshall-Clemons. All of whom lived in Anson county,
North Carolina, USA, in the late 1800's.
These are some of his trees:
| Here is the Douglas family from 1880 to the early
1900's in Anson county NC. Henderson Douglas a mulatto who was
born into slavery sometime around 1825 married Mourning Meachum-Douglas
who was also born into slavery sometime aroung 1830. Henderson and
Mourning were said to have had 19 children, but I have only found
information on 12 and possibly 5 others that are not listed below.
They were as follows. |
| Johnny A. Douglas born 1849 and died in 1928. |
| Joseph Douglas born 1850 and died in 1928. |
| William Douglas born abt. 1855. |
| Aron or Arron Douglas born abt. 1856. |
| Ann Elizabeth Douglass born abt. 1858. |
| Matilda Ann Douglas born abt. 1863. |
| Charles Douglass born abt. 1864. |
