The Scotti feudal lords of Varsi from 1303 to 1758

In 1303 the bishop of Piacenza gave the Scotti the rights to Varsi, exchanging them with similar ones closer to the city, or in that of Santimento (Calendasco). On this map is shown the historical-genealogical tree of the family starting from 1303 the year in which they were assigned to Giovanni II Scotti «bona S. Iumenti in bonis Varsi in episcopato Placentie ut in instrumento permutationis rogatu for Emanuelem de Orlandis 1303» . The list goes on to the sons of Pietro Francesco, Giacomo and Ottavio, who in the middle of the XVI century are called "agents", that is those who act in the lawsuit filed with the ducal Chamber of Piacenza to regain the lost rights in favor of the branch of Fombio.

AS Piacenza, Scotti Douglas di Fombio and Sarmato, Scotti Douglas di Fombio: correspondence, b. 49 (ex B.1), Family Douglas Scotti of Parma: Varsi, court documents 1561-1568, fasc. 1 sec. XV
