The ruins of Linlithgow Palace are situated in the town of Linlithgow, 15 miles (24 km) west of Edinburgh.

The palace was one of the principal residences of the monarchs of Scotland in the 15th and 16th centuries. Although maintained after Scotland's monarchs left for England in 1603, the palace was little used, and was burned out in 1746.

The Palace is the site of a jousting tournament being held on Sunday 6th July 2014. In a daring display of horsemanship and skill our knights will do all they can to better their opponent from knight on knight jousting, ring jousting and foot combat. Hear the thunder of hooves and the crack of lances splintering as our knights battle it out in the arena.

There’s lots for visitors to get involved in too - learn about the fashions of the day from the ladies of the court, meet the palace jester and sign up to join our kids army! There’s lots to keep everyone entertained at our bustling camps and living history displays.
