6th July 2014 - Event closed

Friday 4th July 2014

There is no set programme for today.  This will be an opportunity to visit Edinburgh places of historical interest - or hit the shops!

Douglas history seeps out of Edinburgh, built around its castle, where the Earl of Douglas and his brother were murdered at the Black Dinner.

Edinburgh's museums hold many Douglas artefacts and portraits.

The Queen will be in residence at her Palace of Holyrood House, so you will not be able to visit, but you might catch a glimpse of her as she carries out her public engagements.

If there is sufficient interest, a Douglas Golf Tournament could be held at Dalmahoy.

Evening programme - Ceilidh at Dalmahoy
