"LEE JACOBS
Lee J. Jacobs, 50, of 224 - 13th St. Rock Island, a truck driver forthe City of Rock Island the last six years, died yesterday in St.Anthony's Hospital (located in Rock Island, Rock Island County,Illinois and is now a nursing care facility) where he had been apatient since March 4.
Services will be at 10:30 Tuesday morning in Wheelan Funeral Home.The Rev. Donald H. Gibbs, pastor of the First Methodist church willofficiate. Burial will be in National Cemetary, Arsenal Island.Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 tomorrow afternoon.
Mr. Jacobs was born Jan. 20, 1905, in Oquawka (Henderson County,Illinois), a son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jacobs. He was reared in NewBoston and married the former Ada L. Frost, Jan. 2, 1947, in RockIsland. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member ofthe Davenprt Eagles and Moose Lodges. He was of Methodist faith.
Mr. Jacobs moved to Rock Island from New Boston 22 years ago and sincemade his home there.
Surviving are the widow; three step-daughters, Mesdames PaulineMorris, Milan, Irvin Jordan, Colona, and Clarence Schultz, rockIsland; eight step-sons, Earl and George Arnold, both of Davenport,John and Berlin Arnold, both of Rock Island, Sam Arnold, Burbank,Calif. Richard Jacobs, serving with the U.S. Army in Germany, LeeJacobs, at home; and Roy Jacobs, at home; two brothers, Earl Jacobs,New Boston, and Sam Jacobs, Rock Island.
