"My name is Carol Osborne and I am the County Coordinator for theBoone County KYGenWeb site.
I have been a resident of Boone County since 1973 and live near theScheben Library. My husband and I have been married for 34 years andwe have 3 children. I moved to the Union area from Ludlow, KentonCounty, Kentucky where I resided for 18 years.
My father, Howard Griffith, now lives only 1 mile from his GreatGrandfather's home in Richwood. John W. Griffith (b. 15 Apr 1801 inPennsylvania) was an early pioneer of Boone County and owned theproperty across from the Richwood Depot on the south side of oldLexington Pike and US 25 (now Richwood Road and US 25). He married twowomen: first was Frances "Fannie" Glore (Clore, dau. of Michael Clore)and the second was Elizabeth Carpenter, youngest child of Rev. WilliamCarpenter. John and Elizabeth are buried in the Rev. William CarpenterCemetery on Circle Drive in Florence. The Griffith family members wereMerchants, Farmers, Real Estate agents and Bankers in the city ofWalton. The surnames connected to this family are: Finnell, Sleet,Anderson, Van Meter, Skinner, Bloom, Moore, Jackson (two separatelines), Kopple, and Ryle, just to name a few. It's been quoted that Imust be related to almost everyone in Boone County. I think there arequite a few of us that can claim that! Please check my links to theleft for my ancestral history. I would love to hear from anyonefinding a connection to my line."
