PAGE 118 -- 1690 - Pg 83 - EXCERPTS: Court held 9 Sept 1690. #813.Richard Elkin the (eldest) son of Ralph Elkin late of this County(Stafford) deced "made humble petition to this Court for a Probate ofthe Last Will and Testament of his Father deced he being Execr.appointed in the will which unto him is granted ... Therefore tisordered that Richard Elkin the son of Ralph Elkin deced shall haveprobate granted to him of the Last Will and Testament of his decedFather having fully proved the Oathes and Testamonies of StephenGardner and George Lodge ... and George Lodge and John Hawkin becameSecurity with richard Elkin to perform the will of his Father RalphElkin deced and entered into bond accordingly. The present name was given in 1651. New Kent from York in1654. James City, York, Gloucester, and New Kent are all right in thesame area, bordering each other, so that is is entirely possible andmore than likely the same Ralph Elkin/s. ..."
