- Enlisted, 1896, in Troop 1, Squadron A, NYNG, in New York City. In the year of his enlisted the new Armory for Squadron A, 93rd Street and Madison Avenue, Manhattan, opened with a grand reception and ball. In April of 1897 as a member of Squadron A he paraded as escort to President Harrison at the dedication of the Grant Memorial. He served in Troop 1, Squadron A during the Spanish American War era. He was discharged from Squadron A in 1900.
