      WILLIS STUCKER REDENBAUGH, enlisted in the Civil War on 6 May 1864, atRockville, Indiana, and served in Co. G. 133 Ind. Inf. during thisenlistment. He enlisted a second time on 5 April 1865 at Danville,Illinios, and served in Co. K 43 Ill. Inf. in September 1865 atLittle Rock, Arkansas, he was taken ill from exposure, an illness thatwas still bothering him on 23 May 1876, at which time he was living inFranklin County, Kansas. On that date he was 39 years old, 5 feet 5inches tall, described as having a fair complexion, dark hair, andblue eyes.
      Willis Redenbaugh was born 20 November 1836 in Fountain County toGeorge and Margaret Stucker Redenbaugh and died here 24 March 1907.He is buried in Centennial Cemetery, Old Part, near Yeddo, Indiana.On 21 March 1861 he married (1) Amanda Sowers (d. 10 November 1875near Centropolis, Kansas). They were the parents of twins, Margaretand Sylvester; Marion, married (1) Nancy L. Weeks (2) Mary Dotson;Elizabeth married William Henry Nolen; William M. married Nettie E.Lawson; Alice married Manson Lawson.
      Willis married (2) Nancy Jane Hutts (born 24 December 1860, FountainCounty, died 9 July 1922, buried Centennial Cemetery, daughter ofLewis Hutts and Lucinda Way. Her ancestry includes the Englishsettlers who were the first proprietors of Nantucket Island !
      Willis and Jane had 4 children: Eulala Pearl, born 13 September 1881married John Murphy Hershberger; Mary Rosa born 23 February 1884married Sylvester Lindley; Silvia Elzada born 20 January 1889 marriedOrestus Edgar Newnum; James Charley born 14 October 1894 married NinaNehmiah. Of the 4 children and their spouses, only Aunt Nina is stillliving in 1983. She lives near Kingman.
      Willis homesteaded in Nebraska in the early 1880's with Nancy Jane andPearl, but returned to Fountain County to a farm on the northeastcorner of the crossroads a mile west of Yeddo, where he lived the restof his life as a highly esteemed farmer." [Transcribed, SLJuhl, 02Nov 2005]
