"Decatur County Journal Thursday, April 6, 1916
Mary Ann Redenbaugh was born in Jefferson County, Indiana, September30, 1826. She moved with her parents at an early age to Ladoga,Indiana and here she spent her girl hood days, grew to woman hood andwas married to Mason Foxworthy, on February 19, 1845. During the fallof 1854, they decided to move west and settled in Mercer County,Missouri. After seven years they moved to Pleasanton, Iowa, wherethey stayed ten years then they moved to Lineville which has beentheir home for forty-five years.
Mr. Foxworthy answered his call and passed into the life beyondfourteen years ago, but many remember him as he worked in his shopopposite the south M.E. Church as Lineville's wagon builder.
To cheer their home, nine children were given to them. they are MaryFrancis, who resides at Pleasanton, Iowa, and who was unable to attendthe services as she is seeking for health in the South; Jane, Amanda,Oliver, who is a practicing physician at Leon, Iowa; Victor E. Nellie, who is Mrs. Jordan of Lineville; Jane, William, Rose and Amanda, having passed before to the better land.
In early life she was converted and consecrated her life to thebuilding up of the Redeemer's Kingdom in the Baptist Church. She hasfor about thirty years, enjoyed the privileges of membership in theLineville M.E. Church of which she has been a faithful and consistentmember.
During the last years of her life, she has been confined to her homewith the feebleness that comes with age, and her many friends weresorry to learn that during the icy time in the winter, she fell andsustained injuries which confined her to bed. She bore all with trueChristian patience and fortitude, was always cheerful and was aconstant surprise to the many friends who visited her in the wonderfulmanner in which she retained her conversational power. A few days agoit became apparent that she was gradually sinking and her childrengathered about her as she passed peacefully away on March 25, 1916, atthe age of 89 years, 5 months and 26 days.
The funeral services were held in the M.E. Church at 10:00 A.M.Monday, conducted by the Pastor. Many friends and neighbors were inattendance. The interment was made in the Lineville Cemetery. (LD)"[Transcribed 21 Jan 2006, SLJuhl]
