Notes |
- Please Note: Research on the family in Virginia has not been done asyet.
Another contributor to the information on this Farner family was froma Irene Cory Webster of Pontiac, Michigan through correspondence withJoyce Lorraine Clore Elkins (Parke County, Indiana) in the 1980's.Irene was able to indicate the branch relationship of James and ConradCarl Farner as brothers, and their father as being Isaac Farner, sonof Conrad Farner. The census records also put their relationshiptogether as near relatives.
Irene also questioned the relationship of Coonrad (m. ElizabethSanderson) and James (m. Hannah Shelby) as brothers. This isdoubtful, since no other Farner was of the approximate age as Coonrad(Conrad) in the early census records. It is more likely that James isthe son of Coonrad (Conrad) from his first marriage. However, moreearly records would be welcomed to verify either way the relationshipbetween the two men.
Joyce was the daughter-in-law of Gladys Ellen/Helen Farner Elkins ofParke County, Indiana. Joyce was also the compiler's Mother.
The present information was added and updated with the aid of thecomputer after research by the compiler of the census records via theInternet at www.Ancestry.com source was done to verify Irene Websterand Joyce Elkins's data collected and to add to it's base ofknowledge. It is believed that most of the information compiled forthe Farner family in the register report is as close to accurate aspossible at the present time. The compiler welcomes additions, corrections, and comments by other family members atsljuhl1234@yahoo.com; Please put the word genealogy in the subjectline when e-mailing the compiler otherwise the message may be missedwhen scanned; Or if preferred, mail by post is always welcomed aswell. Also, you will note that for some individuals there are listedseveral first names. Misspellings occurred by the census takers inthe early years, and I have listed the various spellings of thedifferent names for other researchers when possible. [14 September2006, SLJuhl, compiler]
