"A Quaker record, dated Dec. 19, 1734, showed that Owan Thomasattended a wedding at the house of Isaac Parkins, who lived south ofthe present site of Winchester.
"The church record says:
George Hollingsworth, son of Abraham Hollingsworth, late of CecilCounty, Maryland, now living on the North side of Opecken Colony, Va.,married Hannah McCoy, daughter of Robert McCoy Sr. of the same place,December 19, 1734, at the house of Isaac Parkins.
Forty-one witnesses were listed on the marriage record, among whomwere the earliest pioneer settlers in Old Frederick County..."
