      "Helen Hepburn's father was Adam (Sir) Hepburn, as shown by you, and hermother was Janet Borthwick, daughter of William (Sir) Borthwick, pursuantto a papal dispensation on 2 November 1411, which, by coincidence is thedate of the dispensation mentioned previously. I am getting the Hepburninformation from SP2:135 etc., but the information on the Borthwickdispensation is in the
      addenda and corrections SP9:39. Adam (Sir) Hepburne of Hailes was the sonof Patrick Hepburne younger of Hailes and a daughter and co-heir of thefamily of Vaux. The SP article has earlier generations ."
