- Paphilon was the "village carpenter and apprenticed to David Maynard in Whittlesford before the latter left for America in 1834, whereupon he took over the business."
Owned the property which had been a house, school, home, carpentry workshop
and finally his home. Arthur Douglas purchased the property, demolished the
old house and workshop and built a fine new house in which he and hisfamily
