Notes |
- Variously employed as an orchardist and miller on the Kalgan River near
Albany (had a sawmill with his brother Percy), orchardist at Bedfordale from
the late 20s, and a carpenter on the construction of the Canning Dam in the
30s, where he lost an eye to a splinter of wood.
An avid supporter of
Labor in WA, he died the night of the historic win by the Tonkin led Labor Party of the
February 1971 Western Australian State election. His last words to Irene
before he retired that evening were "They've finally won, Mother".
