[1888] Herkimer County 1888-9 Directory, published by Lant & Silvernail, Valatie, Columbia County, N.Y.
Edward C GREEN, carpenter, living in a house on E Clark cor Cottage.
Edward was listed with John GREEN (father) in 1850 and 1870 census but not the 1860. This could have been an error or he mave have been living elsewhere. Possible links;
a. Edward living with John & Catherine STRATON as a "Day Laborer", Waterloo, Seneca, NY. 1860 census p.163
b. Edward living with Duane & Abby GURNSEY as a "Day Laborer", Pomfret, Chautauqua, NY. 1860 census p.252 (588).
Edwards brother, Gardner GREEN, was in Chautauqua NY btw. 1860-1864 where he enlisted in the Union Army, 15th Engineers.
There is no Edward GREEN in Chautauqua NY in either 1850 or 1870 and we know Edward was in Oneida NY in those census years.
In 1870 Pomfret, Chautauqua census, the neighbors of Duane & Abby GURNSEY were William H & Susan (KANE) GREENE of Herkimer.
