Luc de La Corne came from a large and illustrious fam ily. He and h is brother Louis*, known as the Chevalier d e La Corne, were destined to pa rticipate in military and c ommercial endeavours which took them to the sa me battlefie lds south of Lake Champlain and the same fur-trading territ ori es in the west.
