Notes |
- Subsequent to L-23 command, the whole crew were appointed to new build HMS Unique, but prior to vessel commissioning Walker, Rind (navigating officer) and 4 crew were diagnosed with tuberculosis. Walker was in Sanitarium for about 6 months then released and placed on retirement list. Shortly thereafter was taken on by Adm. Max Horton as staff officer sub ops. After some months Adm. Horton arranged for reinstatement to active, but no more subs. Walker was then appointed 1st Lt. HMS Black Prince in 1943 and remained with that ship until 1946 when the ship was turned over to N.Zealand at Auckland.
