- From M.C.Andrews:
Benjamin and Abigail are buried next to Isaac Case and wife Maria Amsden Case as well as Joshua and Betsey Case in the Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury in Elkhart County. Joshua and Betsey were Benjamin's parents, and Maria was Abigail's mother by her first marriage and Benjamin's aunt, by her second marriage to his uncle Isaac Case. See Electa Ketcham Penney's book on the descendants of John Ketcham and Sarah Mathews, where the siblings and parents of Benjamin are listed.

Death of Benj. Case.
Benjamin V Case, aged 83 years, died of paralysis at his home 3 1/2 miles southwest of Goshen, last night, after an illness of three months. Mr. Case was born in Hopewell, Ontario county, NY, in 1813 and moved to Elkhart county, and settled on a farm in Middlebury township, 56 years ago. He leaves a wife, one son, Isaac A., and one daughter, Edna L., wife of Mr. C C Latta. Mr. Case was a pioneer, and was widely known as an industrious and successful farmer, and a man of the strictest integrity. The funeral services will be held at the late residence Sunday at 10:30 o'clock, interment in Forest Grove cemetery, near Middlebury.
According to Ella Morgan Case, Benjamin was distantly related to Jerome Increase Case b:12/11/1819 Williamstown, Oswego, NY, founder of JI Case Co. in Wisconsin, and son of Caleb Case and Deborah Jackson who married in 1811 in Onandaga, NY. JI Case's ancestry is not clearly from the Long Island Case's. Some believe him to be descended from Henry Case (IV) and Margery Carscadden of Long Island and Goshen, NY, however more researchers put him with the Nathaniel Cass family of NH. If the latter is true, then they are not likely to be related.
