Hi Todd:
Hey - Here's a "cut and paste" from a semi-pro genealogist - who broke the stone wall on my Franklin Ruel Perry. This is a red letter day! to wit: (P.s. - the cost was a clam dinner at his favorite seaside inn)
<><><><>
Perry,
Franklin Ruel Perry WAS the son of Dinah Case. And William Perry was undoubtedly his father. The reason that this line is so hard to crack is that the family didn't want us to.
William and Dinah weren't married. Franklin Ruel CASE was baptized 17 Aug 1823 in Canton ("for Huldah Case" -his grandmother).
His mother, Dinah Case (b 1 Apr 1788, Simsbury, da of Abel Case & Huldah Higley, d 3 Sep 1848, Canton, wife of Ira Case), names him as her son under the name Franklin R. Perry in her will.
So there it is.
But going up the Perry line is still a challenge!
You owe me a plate of clams.
-Tim

Looks like William Perry was a prior partner (possibly they were married) when Franklin was born. Dinah m. Ira in October 1823 shortly after his birth. Perhaps Dinah's post-partum depression led to a breakup or maybe William met an early demise. May be an interesting story here.
ACTUALLY, IRA MARRIED DINAH AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS FIRST WIFE. THE BAPTISM OF FRANKLIN WAS AT AGE TEN. IF DINAH & WILLIAM WERE MARRIED, HE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED AS FRANKLIN RUEL CASE. SHE AND IRA WERE MARRIED WITH HER USING THE NAME "HULDAH" (CHURCH RECORDS), PROBABLY TO HIDE HER TRUE (SHAMED) IDENTITY. BUT IN HER WILL, SHE
IDENTIFIES HERSELF AS THE WIFE OF IRA CASE.
