!MENTION: Rev. Dr. Donald MacKinnon and Alick Morrison, THE MACLEODS--THEGENEALOGY OF A CLAN, Section II, Edinburgh, The Clan MacLeod Society,1968, p. 113. This MacLeod family was descended from Donald, fifth andyoungest son of Sir Roderick Mor MacLeod, 15th Chief of the MacLeods. OfDonald, the progenitor of the MacLeod family of Greshornish, nothing muchis known. He was born about 1619, and married, as his first wife, Janet, daughter of Donald MacDonald, 11th of the MacDonalds of Clanranald, withissue. Donald MacLeod of Greshornish married, as his second wife,Margaret, daughter of Fraser of Foyers, [Discharge in Muniment Room,Dunvegan Castle. Neither MacKenzie's HISTORY OF THE FRASERS nor Warrand'sSOME FRASER PEDIGREES mentions this marriage. Probably Margaret was adaughter of Hugh Fraser, 4th of Foyers, and his wife, Margaret MacKenzie(Warrand: SOME FRASER PEDIGREES, pp. 72-73), with issue.
