Notes |
- "My one gt grandmother, Margaret Irving Smith (married to ChristopherJohnstone (1828-1911), son of James, Dr. William's brother,) grew up inMoffat, Dumfries. Her mother was Janet Rollo Irving (from what I know---all the Irvings in the family were cousins to each other -- i.e. Jamesjohnstone (b. c 1795)(my gtgt) was married to Mary Irving; and Dr.William (James brother) was also married to Mary Crone Irving (theirwives were cousins). I had quite a few family photos ---including a picof the stone house in Moffat, the Smith home. The Smiths had a businesson the High Street in Moffat (surgeons/clinic/druggists/parfumerie) "
