Source for information known on parents to date: April 30, 2004 isfrom a copy of Tella Milton McCoy birth certificate from OhioDepartment of Health. File number 9816. It is a delayed certificateof birth dated November 1st, 1941 post a court finding (case # 14501,in Probate Court, Coshocton County, Ohio) on October 31, 1941attesting to Tella's birth at home with a Doctor McCurdy in attendanceat the time of birth, and that his father was Lyman McCoy and hismother was Hazel Gertrude Blackson. The document states that HazelGertrude Blackson lived in the community for a lifetime. It alsostates that there was an older child born previous to Tella MiltonMcCoy, but does not give a name. The delayed birth certificate courtfindings specifically gave his parentage, and was done several yearsprior to the death of his mother Hazel Gertrude Blackson.

The author's address is 32Jamestown Rd., Charleston, SC 29407-7526. You would need to contactthe Zanesville Library to get an obit from there. We do not keep theZanesville paper on microfilm. Hope this helps. Margaret"

It's just been recently known that Hazel Gertrude Blackson had sixmarriages (per grandson Dave Dempsey and daughter Mamie Dempsey ofTexas) of which Lyman McCoy was the first marriage. It would appearthat in the obituary notices that Lyman's marriage to Hazel Blacksonwas not mentioned nor were his children by her. Pesently, I have onlytwo childrens names on documents for proof of father Lyman McCoy -Tella's birth certificate, and Mildred"s name in the obit of CoshoctonTribune, 1948.
