  • Notes
    • All that is known for a certainity is that John Elkin was the son ofRalph Elkin. This compiler has a great deal more research to do onthe Elkin Family as yet. In following the Elkins Eagle QuarterlyNewsletter's Time Line of Elkin(s) in the Virginia Chronology, thiscompiler tried to only concentrate on the "Elkin" since we know thatJames Jr/Sr.'s Elkin(s)(probable brother to Drury & Jesse Elkin(s))father was James Elkin (b. 1720) in probably King George County whereJohn Elkin and Ralph Elkin Sr. were located. I'm sure that otherresearchers may feel that several family members have been left out ofthis family line, and that is true. I did not research all three ofthe original Richard's, nor Archibald's family lines as yet. It isthe goal of this compiler to first establish the links between theElkin Family before moving onto other family links. Hopefully, thoselinks may be explored before too long. One thing that did jump out inthe Elkins Eagle Quarterly was that David Elkin(s) (b.14 Feb 1741/42)married a cousin, Mary Pedigoe, dau. of Mary Rhoebe Elkin, dau. ofRalph Jr. Elkin, and descendant from the Elkin family. So, it is mybelief that the families could be very much inter-related. [09February 2008, SLJuhl, Compiler & Family Genealogist, dau. of JoyceLorraine Clore Elkins, Family Genealogist]
