Notes |
- Some show her mother as Eupheme de Ross. However as Doug Hickling pointsout
"...You further show that the mother of his daughter Euphemia (Countessof Strathern) Stewart was the alleged second wife. In fact, the evidenceshows that David married only once--and his only wife was a daughter (1stname unknown) of Alexander (Sir) Lindsay of Glenesk, by Katherine, daughter of John (Sir) Stirling of Glenesk. Euphemia, Countess ofStrathearn, was their only child. See Alison Weir (at 223-224). BrianTompsett, SCOTS PEERAGE 3:12-14 and 8:259-260 as well as COMPLETEPEERAGE 12 (part I):389-390 are all in agreement with the above."
