- John Anstruther-Thomson of Charleton and Carntyne succeeded to the title of 18th Lord St. Clair on 10 April 1833, but for the attainder. He gained the rank of Officer in the service of the 9th Lancers and 13th Light Dragoons. He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the service of the Fife and Forfar Imperial Yeomanry. He was decorated with the award of Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers' Decoration (V.D.). He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Fife.
