- It says in
"Bygone Lochaber" by Somerled MacMillian. 1971, K & R Davidson, Glasgow.(printers). Under The Macdonells of Keppoch (ps145-152)
"Josephine MacDonell was responsible for the error in stating thatMargaret was mother of Allan Cameron of Erracht. This has been provederroneous beyond a shadow of a doubt. Margaret was married twice. Herfirst husband was MacDonald of Cross. After the marrige ceremony Collsaid to him: "Bha thu roimhe 'ad Fhear-Chrois; tha thu nis 'adfhear-chroisean" ("You were before the Man of Cross; you are now the manof crosses'). Poor Margaret was an uncommon specimen of Mother Eve. Shemarried, secondly, Archibald, son of Ranald Mor MacDonald of Tirnadrish. She had no children by her tweo husbands, and died, deserted by all, anold woman, near Fuaran Chaorach (Sheep Springwell), Bohuntine. " p 151.
