- Esther McDonald and her husband John Woodward resided on "Anvil Rock"
Plantation, where it is said they are buried. John Woodward was 21 at the
time of the Regulation, and died owning over 7000 acres of land and 55
slaves. He is referred to as "John Woodward, South Carolina Regulator,
Cedar Creek of Broad River, 7389 acres 55 slaves" in Richard Maxwell
Brown's "The South Carolina Regulators", p.114, 118, & 119.
