  • Notes 
    • Charles left CT in 1798 with his new wife and son, Zopher, and moved first to Warren, OH in 1800, passing through NJ, and Susquehannah Co., PA. He purchased land in Warren from Oliver Phelps. He then moved to Youngstown and from there to Kinsman in 1802. In 1804 he moved to Williamsfield until 1811 and then moved to Conneaut. He returned to Williamsfield where he remained until his death. (C.A.Case, p.152)

      " left CT in 1798; came thru Susquehanna City, PA, thru Pittsburgh, PA, over mountains by oxcart and teams to Warren, OH, Trumbull City. 1800: in Youngstown, Mahoning City, OH. 1811-1815, at Conneaut, OH. Returned to Williamsfield, OH until death in 1825. Musical. Instructed settlers in note reading." Simsbury Soldiers in the War of the Revolution, p.74.
