  • Notes
    • Duncan states on p.41 that Lucy was dau. of Ezra and Mary Willcockson but this is contradicted elsewhere in the book. Ruth later forwarded notes from Goodwin's Genealogical Notes indicating that Moses married Lucy Wilcox, daughter of William and Lucy (Case) Wilcox. The notes are correct and Ruth will add corrections for page 41, item 78.

<<"Simsbury Cemetery Gravestone Inscriptions" (vol. 1 - The Old Section)
      compiled by Joyce A. Cahill
I did notice in the instructions on using this book that it clarifies that
Hopmeadow Cemetery, Simsbury Center Cemetery and Center Cemetery
are all one and the same.

Some of the inscriptions on the stones are positively creepy, i.e. Lucy Case
      d. 6/27/1779, wife of Moses Case (Sect A, row 28) "Come view the Grave,
See where I lie, Remember you are born to die". This seems to be a favorite
as it's repeated in variations on other headstones.
