- Charles Hunter, 8th Laird of Burnside, had another brother, who died without issue, and a sister Ann. His son General David Hunter, 9th Laird of Burnside, succeeded him when he died.
Charles Hunter, 8th Laird of Burnside, had eleven children, 8 of whom are mentioned [in this bond]. His eldest, David, inherited the estate on his father's death in 1809 and became 9th Laird of Burnside. Two of his other sons are not mentioned: John who emigrated to South Carolina after eloping and William who was murdered by Pirates in the Far East in 1790's
Margaret died without marrying. She had three other sisters, including Lillias and Mary Ann. She also had seven brothers.
