B. Kuykendall in 1919, pages232-33, the widow of the above Samuel Ketchum, whose maiden name wasElizabeth Sparks, was married 2nd, to Moses Kuykendall. There seemslittle doubt that this Elizabeth Sparks, often called "Betsey" inrecords of the time, was a daughter of Richard Sparks, Sr. and wasthus a sister of Daniel. A son of Benjamin and Sarah (Feree)Kuykendall, Moses Kuykendall had been born about 1748. He wasprobably a widower when he was married to Elizabeth (Sparks) Ketchum." Para. 4, "Moses Kuykendall, like a number of his neighbors inPennsylvania, including Daniel Sparks, migrated with his wife andfamily to Jefferson County, Kentucky, near the close of the AmericanRevolution. He was there in 1782 when he built what came to be calledKuykendall Station on the waters of Harrod's Creek. In 1792, adaughter of Elizabeth by her first marriage, Hannah Ketchum, wasmarried in Jefferson County to Samuel Griffy. (See Bond Book1781-1826, p. 15) The marriage bond, dated January 20, 1792, wassigned by Moses Kuykendall as bondsman and he was identified as HannahKetcham's step-father. It is also interesting to note that a deed wasrecorded in Jefferson County (Book 2, p. 270) by which Moses andElizabeth gave two slaves to Elizabeth's daughter, Hannah (Ketchum)Griffy, wife of Samuel Griffy. In this deed, Hannah is identified as"the daughter of her, the said Betsey." Moses Kuykendall died priorto June 20, 1808, for on that date his widow, Elizabeth, was married a3rd time, to William Steele, in Jefferson County, Kentucky (marriagebond dated June 20, 1808)."

Subject: Redenbaugh ancestry
Albert, his son Farris, Farris' wife Pearl and their infant grandsonare all buried in Pringle Cemetery in Pringle Township, Custer County,SD.
Cemetery records say that Albert was born in 1870, died July 29, 1979at 71 years old. Farris (B) was born 1905 and died April 15, 1979 at74 years old. Pearl E. (Knight) was born Jan. 1, 1909 (in Kansas toZemiri H. Knight and Dora E. Hoffine) and died Aug. 2, 1961 at 51years old. The grandson, Richard, was born June 13, 1966 and died Aug.26, 1966. The grandson was the son of Jake Redenbaugh, whose ages andwhereabouts are unknown. Jake (the son of Farris and Pearl) is dead, Ithink. My grandmother Dorothy was a daughter of Farris and Pearl. Theyhad other children, but I'm not sure of their names or birthdates. Oneof the daughters may have been Rose.
I spent some time last night looking into Cloie Zackmire and her line.I have seen some genealogies that said her mother -- Melissa AbigailZackmire -- was the child of a Valentine Day and Catherine Sommers. But unidentified "Family Records" list her as the daughter (born March24, 1857) as the daughter of Jacob Valentine Day and Celia Philpott inMill Creek Township. An 1860 Census listing for Jacob V Day confirmsthat with a three-year-old daughter, Abigail, and a wife Seeley.
One theory I am working on -- maybe everyone else already knows aboutit! -- is that Albert Redenbaugh grew up -- or at least lived in 1880,according to the census -- in a boarding house run by John H. Day, arelative of Melissa Day and thus his future wife, Clorie Zackmire. Iam still unsure of the relation between John Day and Melissa AbigailDay, but I'm fairly certain there is one. In fact, in 1870 there is anAbigail Day, age 13, listed as living with John H. Day. I can find in1870 that Jacob may still be living but with a different wife. JohnH.'s mother (Abigail Hoose) lived with him for quite a while, and Iread somewhere that she often took in orphans. Abigail (Hoose) didlive with John H. at the same time as Albert Redenbaugh, so that couldbe the reasoning. I still do not know, though, why 8-year-old Albertwas living in a boarding house. I can't find any records of hisparents' deaths, but that is the only reasoning I can find.

"Mrs. Willard wrote a nice book on the Pepples of NW Ohio. " A Gen.Record of Our Kinfolks." I saw it in the IN State Library atIndianapolis. I believe she starts with Abraham in Ross Co. Ohio, butcan't say for sure. On pg 34 she has Isaac Calvin Pepple married MaryFrances Redinbaugh. They had Finley Pepple born Dec 4, 1876 at St.Marys, Auglaize Co. OH. At age 5, moved to Darke Co OH about 1 and 1/2miles south of New Weston. His brother and sisters were: Lome, Viola,Osa, Emma and Bertha Ann ( Anna ).

Finley married Mary Ethel Peters and moved to North Dakota in 1903.His uncle William lived there. There was much more in the book. I amnot related unless it would be through Abraham ancestors. If yourfolks were from this area it would pay to check it out."
